Description:
You are bidding on an opportunity…more than just a car. This is an all composite car made with the best of materials. This bid is for an entire Composite Car Project with all of the molds, dies, and tooling to produce this vehicle. A private aerospace business is liquidating all of its assets and would like to sell this part separately. The owner is 82 years old and would like to retire. The car project was started in the 90’s and was used as a marketing tool in other business ventures as well as just a fun project for the owner. Three cars were produced for street use. The first one was sold. The second one, which is yellow in color, is equipped with a Porsche 911 engine. It has a turned-over 915 trans-axle which makes this car a mid-engine. The yellow car is made from fiberglass and Aramid honeycomb. The red car, with no running gear, is all carbon fiber and Kevlar with Aramid honeycomb. The winner of this auction will receive two semi truck loads of over 1.5 million dollars worth of tooling (in addition to the red and yellow cars) to produce his own super-car. Both the yellow and the red cars are center-steer with a passenger seat behind the driver. With Porsche running gear and carbon-Kevlar materials, the red car weighs about 1650 lbs., depending on what you put in, such as a stereo, air, etc. The yellow car is about 95% complete. It has been driven approximately 100 miles. The red car, which met all of our final project objectives, is ready for any power train that you wish to use. If you wish to remove the rear seat, you could easily install a V8 or 12 cylinder drive-train.
The main molds are new and have a few changes in the chassis. The molds are made to be used hundreds of times and will last for many years. The entire system is designed for a vacuum-bag process. Large flanges are convenient for wet lay-ups. Everything concerning this project is well made.
Spare parts, such as DOT windshields, extra rims and tires, and custom rack and pinion come with the deal. There is just too much to mention. I was the Chief Engineer on the project and would be glad to answer questions.
Everything involved in the car project was brought up fromGeorgia to Pennsylvania and stored in the Old Bethlehem Steel Plant, so some of the photos were taken there. Lighting was not good, but you can see that this is an extensive project. I will give my phone number to those who show great interest. Just e-mail me.
Finally, I want you to know that these are not kit or replica cars. They are a result of an aerospace company just having fun. If you look at other super-cars, you will find that they are made of similar materials and techniques. This is truly a one-of-a-kind offer with an exclusive car and car-design project. I would be glad to give post-purchase advice and assist in the transaction, but I am not the owner. Good luck bidding!
